French Teacher Wins Jeff Award

Parker’s own Cindy Marker earned a “Best Supporting Role” Jeff Award for her performance as Wendy Lee Evans in One Party Consent at First Floor Theater.

Marker was also nominated for her “Solo Performance” in Girls and Boys at the Griffin Theatre, powerfully portraying a character known only as “Woman.”

Since its founding 1968, the Jeff Awards organization has been committed to celebrating the vitality of Chicago-area theatre by recognizing excellence through its recommendations, awards and honors.

When sharing news of this achievement with the community, Drama Department Co-Chair Leslie Holland-Pryor said, “Her artistry and dedication continue to inspire both on stage and in her French classes.”

Parker couldn’t be more proud of Dr. Marker for these personal achievements beyond the classroom and are excited for the performances that lie ahead!
