Graphic Novelist Visits Upper School

Upper School English teacher Mike Mahany’s Graphic Novels senior elective hosted Chris Ware, a graphic-novelist from Oak Park and author of novels such as Rusty Brown and Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth, in a Zoom meeting on Wednesday.

The class had previously read Ware’s graphic short story “The Last Saturday” and loved it. Ware is known for his colorful, precise drawing style and his exploration of themes such as social isolation and emotional insecurity. He has also created the artwork for a number of New Yorker magazine covers.

Special thanks to Ware for taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with Parker students.
