Second Grader Dazzles at Bucktown Kids Run
Recently, 2nd grade student Arturo Velez participated in the Bucktown 5K and Kids’ Run Kids’ Dash.
This race, designed to let the runner “experience the vintage architecture and artistic vibes of Bucktown by foot,” offers a 20-, 50- and 100-yard dash for those younger than 10 years old. Parker’s very own Velez took part in and won first place in the 50-yard dash! His parents, Lynette Correa-Velez and Angel Velez, shared, “Arturo loves track and field, especially the 50, 100 and 400 meters.”
