Parker Rockers Perform with Colonel Choir

Students got a triple dose of musical talent as two groups of Parker Rockers joined members of the Colonel Choir for a special performance.
Dean of Intermediate and Middle School Life Anthony Shaker welcomed Junior Kindergarten through 5th grade students to the assembly. Recognizing not everyone in attendance has been to a music concert before, Shaker demonstrated a range of acceptable ways for the student audience to let the performers know they were enjoying the show. Hand-waving, clapping in time and fist-pumping were covered, before the 4th grade cohort of Parker Rockers took to the stage and shared their renditions of “Sunroof” by Nicky Youre and dazy and Bon Jovi’s “Living on a Prayer.”

Music teacher Rob Denien and JK teacher Stacy Buehler then introduced the 3rd through 5th grade Colonel Choir, who shared a medley of Carloe King songs, incorporating elements of sign language, as well as RaeLynn’s “Always Sing.”

The 5th grade Parker Rockers followed next with their version of Cream’s “Sunshine of Your Love” before teaming up with their peers in the Colonel Choir for a truly rousing rendition of “Hey Ho” by the Lumineers.
