Scholastic Bowl Attends National Championship Tournament
By Coaches Xiao Zhang and Sean Miranda
The Scholastic Bowl team with seniors Annoshae Mirza, Logan Florsheim, Lincoln Hamid and Beckett Nikitas, junior Chase Wayland and sophomore Jack Bartlett traveled to Atlanta for the 2025 High School National Championship Tournament hosted by NAQT. After 10 rounds during two days, the team finished with five wins and five losses in a field of 336 high schools from all over the country and internationally.
Out of 1,676 players who attended the tournament, among Parker’s seniors, Florsheim came in with the highest individual ranking at 325, followed by team captain Mirza at 766, Hamid at 874 and Nikitas at 1,008. They will be missed and remembered for continuing Parker’s culture of excellence in Scholastic Bowl and care for each other as a team.
All of our seniors were committed team members who played on the team for the entirety of their time in Upper School. During that time, Parker achieved four consecutive wins for IHSA regionals and one IHSA sectional. Wayland ranked second among Parker’s team members at 494 and Bartlett ranked at 974.
The Scholastic Bowl team, with a cohort of strong individual rising senior team members, has a bright future.
