Senior Signs for Competitive Dance Team at Wake Forest
Parker hosted a Signing Day event for senior student-athlete Zoe Gary, who committed to joining Wake Forest’s Competitive Dance Team in the fall.
Gary’s parents and sister beamed with pride beside her in the Sheridan Family Café, where faculty, staff and students gathered to celebrate her accomplishments, orchestrate a ceremonial signing and enjoy celebratory cupcakes.
Gary’s Upper School English teacher, academic Advisor and yearbook advisor Mike Mahany said, “I’m always impressed by her diligence, her drive, her intelligence and her organization … you have been an incredible leader … and I wish you all the success in the world.”
All About Dance teacher and choreographer Laura Moschel shared, “I am so incredibly excited for Zoe to take on this next chapter in her dance career at Wake Forest University. Making a competitive dance team of this caliber is unbelievably difficult. Few people know how much time, effort and energy it truly takes to achieve this goal. Zoe has worked so hard to make it a reality and is the most deserving of all the accolades coming her way. Everyone at the studio is so proud of Zoe and can’t wait to cheer her on for her next four years at Wake!”
Gary thanked all the people who supported her on her journey, including her friends, the College Counseling team and her coaches from All About Dance. Before presenting Gary with her ceremonial letter of intent to sign, Athletics Director Nick Kocsis stated, “Everyone should dance. Dance is a joyful thing, but not everyone can dance like you. Congratulations.”
Congratulations indeed! Parker wishes Gary all the best in the journey that awaits her as a student-athlete at Wake next year!
