Seniors Create Connections with Junior Kindergarteners Through French

By Languages and Cultural Studies Department Co-Chair Cynthia Marker
Senior French IV students began monthly visits to Tisha Johnson’s JK class recently. After teaching them a welcome song (“Bonjour, les amis, comment ça va?”), the seniors shared coloring pages of the Eiffel Tower and worked one-on-one with their new JK buddies.

The French senior-JK collaboration dates back many years, thanks to the warm invitations of Lower School faculty who carve out time for these special opportunities. Seeing our oldest and youngest students participate in special projects like this one is among the many ways we are able to make lasting connections and celebrate our “model home.”

We very much look forward to our future visits and thank our JK friends once again for the kind bienvenue. Merci beaucoup et à bientôt!
