Student Work Decorates Parker Halls

Student artists have been busy in class dreaming up creative products to decorate Parker’s model home.

A stroll through the halls reveals a treasure trove of student talent, including:
  • Personal still life acrylic paintings from Upper School Painting I students, which depict frozen moments and reveal who the artists are through meaningful items
  • Wire sculptures  by 6th grade students, made by painting stretched nylon shapes in styles inspired by Harsono, Kusama, Stark and Murkami
  • Dimensional works made of foam core inspired by the work of Matt W Moore and Frank Lloyd Wright, created by Upper School students in Metals/Glass/Other materials class
  • Alphabetography collages by 8th grade photo students showcasing the alphabet in myriad ways around us each day
  • Product design work made in ProCreate by 7th grade digital artists
  • Self-directed artwork emerging from 4th grade art classes
  • Darkroom magic skills and photograms created by students immersed in traditional photography
  • Color typologies developed by Upper School photo students
  • Wooden rings  by Lower School artists employing skills of drilling, sanding, rasping and painting
  • Wooden trays constructed by 5th grade students in Shop class as they explored regular and irregular polygons while learning how to use a protractor and make miter cuts
  • Wooden golfers made by 7th grade artists in Shop class
