Parker track did an oustanding job competing at the ISL Conference Track Meet on Saturday! Conditions were suitable for fast times and many student athletes ran well, placing highly relative to the competing schools (Latin, U-High, North Shore Country Day, Elgin, Northridge Prep).
The girls 4x800m relay (Ada Collins, Bella Evan-Cook, Simran Jain, Sofia Brown) kicked off the day with a victory in the 4x800m relay in a new school record of 10:08. This is the fourth fastest time in the state for class 1A so far this year!
In the other mid-distance races, Ryan Humphrey took a close second with an excellent time of 2:04.70. Owen Dudney eclipsed the 6 minute mark in the mile race, running a personal record of 5:45. Teammate Christian Michaels also ran a strong time of 5:45. Julia Parsa added a personal record of 6:25.01, running in a race with some of the best runners in the state.
Tristen Tate recorded new personal bests in the 100m (14.85) and 400m (1:12.97), taking sixth in each event. Jack Laser also recorded a new best time in the 100m (13.06).
Bella Charfoos debuted in the 300m hurdles for Parker and took home a medal for her third place finish (1:03.35).
Gabriela Sennette continued to excel in the throwing events, finishing second in the shot put (26-01.50) and third in the discus (65-06.00).
