First Grade Family Gratitude Wreaths

First graders have been learning all about gratitude. Through readings and thoughtful discussions in class, they understand the importance of reflecting and being thankful for things they have that others may not. During SuperFlex time, Lower School Counselor Kaela Rowe orchestrated lessons about receiving gifts with gratitude.

To continue these themes at home, 1st grade students talked with their families about things their family was grateful for. During the past month, families have been recording their responses on individual paper leaves, which each family combined to make a family gratitude wreath.

All 1st grade family gratitude wreaths are on display outside the 1st grade classrooms. Students and teachers hope their efforts will inspire others at the school to reflect upon what they are grateful to have in their lives during this holiday time of year.
