Middle School Claymation Creations

Just before normal classes transitioned into remote learning, 6th and 7th grade art students had just completed work on their stop-motion animation videos as facilitated by 7th grade Assistant Teacher and professional stop-motion artist Jasmine Hart.

Knowing how important it is for students to share their own efforts and take in each other’s work, teacher Kay Silva presented students with a live Claymation Watch Party in their first Google Meet to kick off remote learning in style.

Silva shared, “I love teaching this interdisciplinary arts unit because students simultaneously learn sculpture, storytelling, filmmaking and collaboration skills. There's lots of fun and laughter every day in the classroom, which makes it easier for students to practice patience and perseverance throughout the lengthy production period.”

Enjoy the student work here.
