Progressive Education and Remote Programming

Sharing Our Expertise

The purpose of this six-video library for parents of JK–8th grade students is to provide a window into the developmental and philosophical foundations of Parker’s all-remote program and how it mirrors our on-campus progressive approach to teaching and learning.

Parker’s schoolwide remote program has evolved significantly since March 2020, with faculty and staff devoting countless hours last summer and fall to thoughtful study and collaboration aimed at integrating progressive pedagogy, brain research, emotionally responsive practice and cultural competence into our schedule and approach. While each of the brief videos below focuses on a specific foundational element of our schedule and pedagogy, this list is by no means all-inclusive. Instead, our intent is to share some highlights. We hope you find the films interesting and, as a parent or guardian of a remote learner, useful, too.
