“The making of a poem is one of the most hopeful acts.”
–Natasha Tretheway, Parker′s Jeanne Harris Hansell Visiting Poet, 2020–21

It′s time for a community celebration of hope and poetry...in your voice! And safely on Zoom. Maybe you were inspired by Inaugural Poet Amanda Gorman. Maybe you′ve been tinkering with a poem and need a nudge. Maybe you want a reason to sit down and write a new one. Or maybe you′d just like to hear our community′s verse!

Bring an original poem that you′ve written—it can be new, old or a work in progress—to read and share with friends and lovers of poetry. Everyone is invited.

Please join us for a lively evening of poetry read by students, faculty, staff, parents and alumni sponsored by the English Department and Principal Dan Frank.

Francis W. Parker School educates students to think and act with empathy, courage and clarity as responsible citizens and leaders in a diverse democratic society and global community.
