  • Confidential Counseling Services

    Parker employees have 24/7 access to confidential counseling services and up to three (3) in-person or telehealth (video conferencing) mental health sessions per household per calendar year.
  • Medical and Dental Insurance

    The School offers HMO and PPO health insurance options, as well as dental insurance, to eligible employees and their families, including domestic partners, through Blue Cross Blue Shield of IL (BCBSIL). 3-tier coverage is available on both health and dental plans: employee, employee + 1 and family.
  • Blue365 Discount Program

    Blue365, BCBSIL’s discount program, offers special deals on various health care products such as hearing products, athletic apparel, fitness devices, gym memberships, and much more!
  • EyeMed Vision Discount Program

    BCBSIL members save on eye exams, eyeglasses, contact lenses, and accessories by visiting one of EyeMed’s 45,000+ participating providers.
  • Basic Life and AD&D Insurance

    The School provides $50,000 of Life and AD&D insurance coverage for all full time employees at no cost to the employee. 
  • Supplemental Life Insurance

    Eligible employees may purchase additional life insurance at very low monthly rates (rates determined by age and amount of coverage requested). 
  • Short-Term Disability

    Short-term disability is 100% employer-paid and accrues based on length of service. 
  • Long-Term Disability

    Long-term disability premiums are 50% employer/50% employee-paid and cover 60% of an employee’s basic monthly earnings after a 6-month waiting period.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

    To support and encourage a heathy lifestyle, the School provides a $750* annual wellness benefit to all benefits eligible employees. *Pro‐rated for part time faculty members.

Financial and Career Planning Benefits

  • TIAA 403b Retirement Plan

    The School maintains both a Defined Contribution (matching) and Tax Deferred Annuity (non-matching) retirement plan for employees.
     
    An employee who has previously participated in a similar employer-sponsored retirement or pension plan, and is able to show proof thereof, is immediately eligible to join the School’s matching plan and receive an 8% employer match (employees must contribute 4% in order to receive the match).
     
    Employees without prior participation can join the non-matching plan immediately, and those who complete two (2) years of continuous, eligible service will then become eligible for the matching plan. 
  • Retirement Planning Seminars and Individual Counseling Sessions

    No matter what stage of your career you’re in, it is never too early, or too late, to start thinking about your financial future. Every year, a TIAA representative gives employees a presentation/Q&A session on how to plan for retirement. The representative also offers three days of one-on-one counseling, where you can discuss retirement and general financial planning.

  • Generous Paid Time Off

    Eligible staff members receive paid vacation, sick, and personal days, as well as extra time off during December Recess.
     
    Faculty members do not receive vacation days; they do, however, receive paid sick and personal days, as well as December Recess, February Recess, April Recess and summer break.
     
    In addition, the School observes the following holidays:

    Francis W. Parker School provides a unique and private room for nursing mothers.
  • Tuition Remission

    Full-time faculty and staff members who send their children to Parker are eligible for a 75% discount in tuition charges. (Note: staff are subject to a 3-year waiting period).
