Upper School Joins Together for an Hour of Code

This past Wednesday, the entire Upper School collectively engaged in the same activity: coding! This week was Computer Science Education Week, and Parker was an official host site for an Hour of Code. The Hour of Code is “a global movement introducing tens of millions of students worldwide to computer science, inspiring kids to learn more, break stereotypes and leave them feeling empowered.”

The Computer Technology Committee (CTC) organized and facilitated this student-designed and -led event. Students in grades 9–12 filled the Kovler Family Library, Harris Center, Math Wing, classrooms and the Sheridan Family Cafe to engage in customized coding explorations and challenges. Students self-selected activities based on their level of coding experience.

Please enjoy these shots of our Upper School students joyfully engaging in this vital skill and connecting wisdom with innovation!
