Upper School French Students Wow DePaul Peers

By Languages and Cultural Studies Co-Chair Cynthia Marker

Advanced French students Lauren Hughes ’20, Lily Koltun ’20, Isabel Olesinski ’20 and Will Rantala ’20 joined French III student Bodie Florsheim ’21 to perform a short play for a DePaul University French class on February 5.

Actor, writer and director Pascale Daniel, who resides in the south of France, wrote the piece specifically for Parker French students. This is the third collaboration Mme. Daniel has maintained with our advanced French students in recent years to support the incorporation of essential theatrical techniques in the process of language acquisition.

Following their presentation in Professor Polly Mangerson’s Intermediate French class, Parker students engaged in grammar and cultural activities with their DePaul peers for the remainder of the class. Bravo to all participants for their excellent performance and for representing Parker so well. We look forward to the continuation of this collaborative project in future French classes. Très beau travail!
