Scholastic Bowl Takes Regional Championship!

The Upper School Scholastic Bowl team recently captured the program’s first-ever IHSA Class 1A regional title in impressive fashion.

As the One-seed in the region, the team recorded a 520-130 semifinal victory over Schlarman Academy of Danville, followed by a 460-180 victory in the championship match over Bismarck-Henning. The title came on the heels of a successful regular season campaign, during which the team compiled a 23-17 win-loss record across four statewide invitational tournaments against almost exclusively class 2A schools. The triumph also culminates a four-year build since the program's inception, during which the team has advanced one additional round in the regional tournament each year.

Congratulations to team members on their victory: senior Matthew Garchik, sophomore Jonah Gross, freshman Grant Koh, senior Alex Schapiro and junior Mia Wichman. The team advances to the IHSA sectional this Saturday to face Chicago-area foes Lisle, Timothy Christian and Westmont.
