Getting to Know the Intermediate School

Students in 4th and 5th grades recently gathered in a physically distanced fashion in the Heller Auditorium for the first time this year to participate in a Morning Ex featuring leaders from the Intermediate School, who took to the stage to help orient their charges for the year ahead.

Head of Intermediate and Middle Schools Vahn Phayprasert, Intermediate School Counselor Jenny Lira, Intermediate and Middle School Coordinator and Director of Activities Tierra Moore and Intermediate and Middle School Dean of Student Life Albert “Bert” Nascimento introduced themselves, shared more about their roles at the school and noted times they were available to speak to students and their locations on campus.

In the spirit of optimism for the year ahead and appreciation for the many people working in the Intermediate School, a handful of 4th and 5th grade students shared their personal statements of gratitude and thanks before Music Department Chair and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Co-Chair Kingsley Tang led all assembled in a rousing rendition of the Oasis 90s classic “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” which he had been teaching in class.

All left with a better understanding of the people and processes ready to support their learning and development as 4th and 5th grade students this year.
