Fifth Grade Animates Stop Motion

By Visual Arts Department Co-Chair Katie Palmer
In 5th grade art class, students have developed their animation skills through a sequence of prompts beginning with 2D animation and culminating in a short stop-motion film, and this week they showcased their short films for a larger audience of their peers to enjoy.

Students have developed their ability to create a story, fabricate a setting and characters and use a tripod to photograph stop-motion action. Students also developed their skills in editing and adding sound, music and audio elements to their short films using Stop Motion and iMovie.

Here are a few highlights from this project.
