US Robotics Wraps Up Successful Season

Parker congratulates the FTC Robotics students and mentors for a very successful season, including two teams participating in the State Tournament for the first time. Both the rookie and veteran teams fought valiantly against the 36 other best teams in the state. Due to the stiff level of competition, both teams ran into technical difficulties with their robots at different times. While they were able to fix many of the issues that came up, they were not able to resolve them all in time to rank high enough to move on.

One notable highlight was the rookie team having a score that tied for the third highest score of the 48 qualification matches. Another was the veteran team being named the first runner-up for the Design Award. Also, two students on the veteran team, Captain Warner Vance ’24 and Shade Rothkopf ’25 were also honored as semifinalists for the individual Dean’s List Award.

And there is more US Robotics action to come. The ROV (underwater robotics) team will soon compete in their first event of the season. Stay tuned for more details.
