Sophomore Debuts at Ravinia

The community is no stranger to the accomplishments of pianist and Parker sophomore Zarin Mehta, who recently traveled and performed across the globe. Now, Mehta is turning heads again as he is set to perform at Ravinia.

Mehta will make his Ravinia Festival solo piano debut on Sunday, August 20 prior to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s performance in the Tchaikovsky Spectacular. Mehta’s program will include works by Bach, Scriabin and Ravel, as well as his original composition “Glimpses,” a collection of four piano miniatures containing picturesque musical depictions of nature and fantasy.

This performance, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in the Martin Theater, is a complimentary preshow to all who have a ticket to either the pavilion or lawn seating for the CSO concert. For those interested in supporting Mehta, New Music School is extending a 20% discount (use code “RECITAL20”) to the community.
