Umrah: Senior Brings Saudi Arabia to Parker!

Senior Yasmeen Ibrahim spent several weeks during Ramadan in Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah. From ivisa.com, “In Arabic, the word ‘Umrah’ means ‘to visit a populated place.’ This event is a non-obligatory, but important pilgrimage to Muslims to the holy city of Masjid al-Haram in Mecca.”

Last week, Ibrahim led a packed teach-in to students and faculty about Umrah, Islam and life in Saudi Arabia compared to the United States. All those in attendance learned a lot, asked great questions and ate delicious food from Salam Restaurant.

Parker thanks Ibrahim for sharing her meaningful experience and educating the community about an important and beautiful part of the Muslim faith.
