Scholastic Bowl Wins Fourth Consecutive Regional Title

By Head Coach Ethan Levine
Parker’s Upper School Scholastic Bowl team hosted a regional tournament on Monday, March 4, to begin its 2024 IHSA State Series campaign. Coming off three consecutive Class A regional championships and one sectional championship, this is the program's first year competing against large schools in class AA.

As the top seed in the eight-team regional field, Parker stormed out of the gate with an 810-120 victory over Maine South in the quarterfinals, setting a program record for points in a game. They recovered from a slow start in the semifinals against Conant, pulling away in the second half for a 600-210 win. Facing Downers Grove North in the final, they correctly answered the first six tossups and cruised to a 690-170 victory and a fourth consecutive regional title.

The team will travel to Hinsdale Central on Saturday, March 9, to compete in the IHSA Sectional Tournament. As the 2-seed in the field, they will face number 4 Hinsdale Central, number 3 Fenwick and number 1 Walter Payton, with the winner advancing to the State Finals the following weekend. Congratulations to seniors Grant Koh and Warner Vance and juniors Logan Florsheim, Lincoln Hamid and Annoshae Mirza on their outstanding accomplishment.
