Chamber Music Showcased in Morning Ex

Upper School student musicians treated the community with their talents as part of a recent Chamber Music Morning Ex.

Upper School Music teacher Michael Hining served as emcee and conductor for this gathering, when students learned about the history and purpose of chamber music and listened to their peers perform selections from this genre.

This experience intended to prepare the community for an upcoming visit and performance by members of Chicago’s Kontras Quartet as Parker’s 7th Annual Joan W. Harris Visiting Music Scholars in Residence on Tuesday, May 7. In a fun connection, the quartet’s violist, Ben Weber, has studied with Hining for more than 14 years as part of his formal training as a musician.
