    Guidelines for Vehicle Drop-off

    • Please wear a mask.
    • Cars are not permitted to line up until 8 a.m. If you are lined up earlier than 8 a.m., you will be asked to move until the appropriate time.
    • Pull all the way up—no matter which entrances your children are going into, please pull all the way up. There will be adults who are ready to walk your child to the proper entrance gate.
    • We can only unload your child on the sidewalk—if your child’s car seat is not on the passenger side, the child will need to climb over to get out. If you are easily able to move the car seat to the other side, that would also work for us. For safety purposes, we will not walk around and unload your child in the street.
    • Rehearse with your child—please talk to your child about their dismissal plans. Tell them who is coming to pick them up, what car to look out for (it’s great if they know the color) and to be on the lookout!
    • Buckling and unbuckling—PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
Have your student ready—masks on, backpacks ready, and as the weather gets colder, coats, hats, gloves on.
    • 4th–8th graders—if the car is safely stopped near the sidewalk, children in IS and MS may open their own car doors to get out and safely walk down the sidewalk to their entrance.
    • Late to arrive—students who arrive late to school must enter at the Clark Street entrance. Contact your child’s divisional office at the following number
      • Lower School Office—773.797.5116
      • Intermediate and Middle School Office—773.797.5351
    • The school will provide all families with magnetic signage to be displayed on their passenger side door during drop-off.
    • Parents and guardians should email the Grade Head or Advisory (if possible) by 9 a.m. if the students will be utilizing alternate modes of transportation home (e.g. walking, biking, public transportation).
    • Never leave your vehicle unattended in Circle Drive or on Webster Avenue for any amount of time, for any reason.
    • There is no parking in Circle Drive for security reasons.
    • Only take a right turn to go north on Clark Street from Circle Drive. No left turns allowed.
    • During drop-off, follow the traffic directions of the officers and school personnel.
    • Never block alleys or driveways.

    Guidelines for Pedestrian Drop-off

    • The pedestrian line begins at the corner of Clark and Webster.
    • If you are participating in drop-off on foot, you must wear a mask and keep at least six feet physical distance between yourself and others.
    • After your child is dropped-off, please continue moving to avoid crowding in these locations.
    • Please alert your child’s teacher (JK–3) by 9 a.m. if you plan to walk and pickup your child. This will allow for a smoother transition to the pedestrian pickup line.
    • Never Cross in the Middle—under no circumstances can we have ANY OF THE ADULTS (teachers included) cross the street in the middle to load or unload the students. They can only cross the street at the protected crosswalks on the corner.
    • During drop-off, follow the traffic directions of the officers and school personnel.
