I loved the Zoom graduation. The teacher who was retiring was especially wonderful to me with her talk and sincerity. She is someone I would like to meet! I loved the pictures of all the 8th graders now and then at some stage of childhood. Very impressive and fun, and each one made me smile. I have watched your character develop through the years, and I'm so very impressed at the young man you have become. Always very observant, thoughtful, and multi-talented. You can play basketball AND you can sing and act! An excellent student, but you know how to have fun too! You are so balanced physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, and I appreciate that in someone so young because sometimes older folks can't achieve that. I am very proud of who you are.

Love, Grammy

Dear Amazing Parker 8th graders! Congratulations on this ceremonious yet most unusual occasion. You are a special group of individuals, full of empathy and kindness. I wish you the best as you move forward in your lives, both academic and personal. As you travel onward in your high school journey, approach it with ambition and enthusiasm. Despite our currently tumultuous world, always believe in your inner voice, persevere and stand for peace, justice and equity. It is the passionate voices of your generation that will shape the future and I am full of pride for the loving and compassionate group that you are! Move forward and do big things! Nik, WOW-how fast it’s zipped by!! We are so proud of you and hope that middle school has strengthened the belief that kindness and hard work matter. Responsibility, respect and cooperation matter. I believe that your journey through Middle School at Parker has gifted you with perspective, confidence to air your voice and the skills to collaborate. As high school begins, I know you will take all these gifts along with your magnanimous empathy forward to become a kind, virtuous young man who will make a difference! The friendships you have formed and the lessons you have learned are like precious planted seedlings. Cultivate these with love and kindness. Work hard, be bold and dream big!

Lots of love,

MOM
Calan, I am so honored to be your aunt, watching from afar as you mature so quickly. You have always been so wise, observant, curious and multi-dimensional. From your acting and academic achievements, to your musical and athletic ability, to your fascinating collectibles that have changed over the years (coins, bottles, antiques, clothes!) — you have always been a budding Renaissance man. You are an old soul, and it’s so fun to watch you grow and evolve. I especially love watching you with your cousins during our special family get-togethers around the world. We love you so much, welcome to high school!!

Jennifer McCollum
Ryan, you have always been a source of pure joy for us. You are capable and confident, a fabulous mix of silly and smart, and not afraid to lead with your heart. You make us proud every day, and we love you to the moon and back.

Congratulations 8th Graders! The culmination of a meaningful chapter. You are an extraordinary group of compassionate and talented students. The very best to each of you in high school. A word of thanks to the broader Parker community. Thank you for letting Nik hitch a ride for the past four years. He has blossomed; in no small part because of the Parker magic -- indelibly shaped by its philosophy, culture, teachers and community. It is with heavy hearts that we move on, knowing however that Nik (and we) have made some wonderful friends. Congratulations Nik! You should be proud of all that you have accomplished. You are a caring, empathetic, confident and determined young lad. Just shy of 14 and you are about to ‘overtake’ me physically. The same holds in the every important walk of life. And that is just the beginning. I can’t wait and couldn’t be prouder. Nurture that sunny disposition and always be true to yourself. And yes, do as Mom says. Work hard, be bold and dream big!

Dear Calan, You're a great brother. You have taught me so many things and helped me out when I needed it. You always have my back and I love that about you. We have so many great memories together. Now that you're going to be in high school, I know we won't get to hang out as much, but if you ever want to talk or hang out, just call me or come down the hall to my room and say hi. Congrats on graduating from middle school!

Calan, Congratulations on graduating from 8th grade!! I couldn't be prouder of you. You are everything I could ever hope for in a son and more - bright, curious, focused and hyper-observant. Most important to me is that you are a leader, not a follower. You have a great innate sense of fairness and are guided by your own strong moral compass. You are always kind to all. And, you are hilarious! I can't wait to watch you soar as your next chapter unfolds. Thank you for letting me be your mom. I cherish this role above all others.

Congratulations to everyone in the class of 2020 for finishing Middle School and heading on to High School. Some of you have been at Parker for 11 years! That's pretty amazing. Because of CV19 you will certainly remember your 8th grade year! Max, we are so proud of you as you head off to Loomis in the fall. You dreamed a dream and your hard work and perseverance paid off. Well done. We couldn't be happier for you. There is a fringe benefit for us, and that is that you are now less than 75 miles from our house instead of nearly one thousand! Good luck. We love you dearly.

Ames, Bill and Nancy
