As JK through 5th grade families navigate the return to school this fall, Parker wanted to let you know the options that we are planning for our dual Extended Day Programs, Parker PM after school care and Parker P.L.U.S. enrichment classes.

Many Parker students and families participate in after school programs year after year, and we can not wait to see you in person or virtually! New families, please click here for a special welcome.

If you have a 6th, 7th or 8th grade student dismissing at 2:35 p.m., your JK–5th grade student will be supervised until the later Middle School pick-up time and you do not need to enroll in Parker PM.

Extended Day Programs 2020–21: The Basics
Assuming a phase four opening that includes on campus school days for students JK–5, Parker PM is committed to providing safe and fun after school care until 6 p.m. for enrolled students who are unable to go home at the end of the scheduled school day. Unlike during a more typical school year, however, we encourage families to arrange for pick up as early as possible each day.

Registration for Parker PM is required in order to support any necessary contact tracing, and drop-ins will not be allowed. Registration options are detailed below and are limited to five days a week, four days a week or three days a week. We have added an option for a 4:30 p.m. pick-up time. The first day of Parker PM is Wednesday, September 9.

Health and safety during after school hours will include the layers of protection that are employed throughout the school day. Students and staff will wear masks, maintain distancing and be outside as often as possible. Priority will be given to maintaining school-day cohorts with an understanding that students may be in mixed groups in outdoor areas or in designated indoor spaces that are large enough to support appropriate distancing.

A typical afternoon in Parker PM might include outdoor supervised games and activities, story time, group and independent projects with individual supply kits, and quiet space for students who need rest, or time to do homework. Based on registration numbers, we will later determine the best physical spaces to use as well as other details like snack. We are partnering with the Lower and Intermediate Schools to support transitions and parallel new pick-up procedures.

Virtual Parker PM Live! will continue, free of charge, for students who are at home. This opportunity for students to connect with each other and Parker PM Staff will include daily themes, games and age-appropriate activities. Our goal is to provide consistency and care to students whether they are on campus or at home. Stay tuned for launch and schedule details once school is underway.

Parker PM Staff will consist primarily of adults who are already in the building during the school day. Registration numbers will determine our need to include additional adults in the program.

Parker P.L.U.S. enrichment classes will all be virtual and will roll out later this fall.

Days-off Programing is being discussed. The first potential Days-off is in mid-November.
